Overview

The following gives a simple overview of what happens to your personal information when you visit our website moos.org or use our iOS App ourSmartHS.
Personal information is any data with which you could be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found below.

Data required by ourSmartHS App

In order to connect to an OpenHAB Server the App needs the following data:

The local and remote URL are two URLs of your OpenHAB server which are used depending on the network connection of your device.
E.g: The local URL might contain an address of your private network at home, and the remote URL can be an URL allowing secure access to your server from an external cellular or public WiFi network.
If your OpenHAB server is only reachable from external networks using the local URL via VPN, you can enter the VPN settings in the Apps configuration data.

The App will try the provided URLs and (if configured) establish a personal VPN connection on demand depending on the reachability of your server from the current network environment of the mobile device.

All this configuration data described above is only stored locally on your iOS Device in the User Defaults of our ourSmartHS App.
Furthermore the data is only used to connect to your OpenHAB servers or the demo server of the OpenHAB Foundation at https://demo.openhab.org:8443 (if you have enabled the demo mode) or to establish a personal VPN connection.
This configuration data is never transferred to other servers.

The URL of the OpenHAB demo server is preconfigured in the App and only used if you enable the demo mode in the App settings.
The Privacy Policy of the OpenHab Foundation e.V. can be checked here: https://openhab.org/privacy.html
